Employees who work for tax-exempt organizations (schools, charitable institutions, etc.) may invest for retirement in a 403(b) plan invested in the American Funds. The plan may be funded entirely by employee elective deferrals or may allow for additional employer contributions (matching and/or non-elective). Investments are not FDIC-insured, nor are they deposits of or guaranteed by a bank or any other entity, so they may lose value. Investors should carefully consider the investment objectives, risks, charges and expenses of the American Funds in their plan. This and other important information is contained in the funds' summary prospectuses and/or prospectuses, which are available from the plan's financial professional and on the Web. Read the prospectuses carefully before investing.
