Investment Strategy
The investment seeks long-term growth of capital through exclusive investment in the shares of the American Funds Insurance Series® - International FundSM ("master fund"). The fund operates as a "feeder fund" and seeks to achieve its goal by investing all of its assets in Class 1 shares of the master fund. The master fund seeks to make the investment grow over time by investing primarily in common stocks of companies domiciled outside the United States, including companies domiciled in emerging markets, that the investment adviser of the master fund believes have the potential for growth.Investment Expenses, Sales Charges, and Fees
